Emergency Calls On 7-Digit Line

Just a reminder, when you receive an Emergency Call into CAVAC base on a 7 digit line you need to instruct the caller to call 911.

There are a couple of reasons for doing this,

1) The 911 Dispatchers are trained in Emergency Medical Dispatch which allows them to talk the caller through CPR or any other instructions that can be done prior to EMS arrival.

2) When a caller calls 911 the address comes up on the phone system In case the phone gets disconnected prior to getting all the information.

After instructing the caller to call 911 you can give the on duty crew a notice they will be getting a Medical Emergency Call. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.
